Tropicana

While I was out doing a bit of wandering on Saturday afternoon, I spotted these pink hibiscus flowers outside of the house of one of my neighbours. What really struck me was the contrast of the reds/pinks/yellows against the teal colour of the house.

Hibiscus

So, this is all about the colour for me. The fantastic shape of the stamen, well that's a bonus. Oh, and I make this as an offering to those of you in the Northern Hemisphere who are currently shivering your asses off. Greetings from the Sub-Tropics!

You make me want to venture out and pick up my camera again Andrew. Beautiful.

So sweet to think of us! I think something deeply tanned and shirtless posed against an azure sea might comfort us even more, whilst still satisfying your craving for contrasting colors.

That is a gorgeous shot. Simply gorgeous. And interesting to see something recongisably hibiscus without all that pink petal action. Eww, "pink petal action" sounds alarmingly hetero.... Haha!

Mikey, notice how Andrew's composition strips away the extraneous and focuses on the essence/phallic?

Guilty as charged. I heart phalluses!

Thanks for the compliments boys.

Q, you know you need to grab that camera! It makes you look at the world differently. Beauty is everywhere.
