Ready For Spring

It's been a bit cool and grey in Sydney today, and I'm feeling that particular itch that you get when you're done with Winter and you just want it to be warmer already. People reading this is the Northern Hemisphere are probably rolling their eyes at the thought of a Sydney winter, it's true it doesn't get all that cold here by international standards, but when you live in a place that does warm weather really well, well you get a little spoilt.

August, 2005.

I took this pic just over a week ago, and I'm really very pleased with it. It's one of my favourite recent photos. This looks very dramatic and tropical, but in reality this bush grows out of the footpath a block away from my house. The combination of the early morning light, and exposure contrast with the background, has made this come out much better that I had hoped. I hope you like it.

It is a beautiful shot, Andrew, the perfect symmetry of nature notwithstanding. That always creeps me out a bit. Maybe that's why I like guys with parts missing.

I agree with Michael, Andrew, in that its a beautiful picture. In fact, I would go so far as to say spectacular! The contrast is amazing, the vividness of the white flower (with a subtle and yet still vivid splash of colour) set against the darkness of the background.

And is it just me, or is there something subtly sexual about this photo? Like looking at some form of high grade botanic porn. Ohh that does it, when I next get an opportunity, I must show our little whore-ticulturist Rabbit this photo ...

Jeez-a-lou,
you guys can make anything about sex... :-)

Thanks for the props on the photo guys, I'm digging this photography thing. As I said, I was really pleased with how this turned out.

"Maybe that's why I like guys with parts missing." I'm without words, I'm guessing there's an interesting back-story here.

Oh my God, what happened there?! I like, "I'm sure you'd be interested in the program debt consolidation. There's lots of information on debt consolidation"
Crikey, well which genius named that site? I'd love to meet him, shake his hand and find out where his inspiration comes from!
Hi Andrew, sorry I haven't commented for a while, it's been a busy couple of weeks. That is a great photo, it looks so professional. I also wanted to say that I went book shpping yesterday and have bought myself a copy of Divided Kingdom(as well as a copy of "the day my bum went psycho"-I just couldn't resist!). It does look like a great book and I can't wait to get into it, although I have to try and wait until we go on tour in a week and a half as they are my tour books. Otherwise, we're well up here in sunny Brissie. Can't wait to come down and see you Guys soon. How have you been sleeping lately? Well, I hope. See you soon, and sorry you got hit by the spam brigade :-(

SPAM! Yech. Deleting blogger spam is so much fun. Although, it does make feel like I have arrived as a blogger, you know?

Marty, glad to hear you have bought Divided Kingdom and I'll be interested to hear your comments. I'm looking forward to meeting up with you too, it'll be nice to put a face to the name! How long are you in town for, by the way?

My sleeping is actually really improving, thanks for asking. This whole Naturopath stuff seems to be doing the trick, and my chronic sinus problem is improving incredibly. I'm still waking early (5.30 this morning) but I slept right through the night last night. Woohoo!
