I took my camera for a little spin at lunch time and got shots of some of the roses growing down the street from my office. I cranked the lens aperture open as far as it would go (in this case F1.8) to get as shallow a depth of field as possible, to give the soft dreamy quality.
If all you heard was
blah blah, don't worry about the technical stuff. Just enjoy the pretties!

I'm really pleased with the results. I hope you like them!

Blah, blah, blah ... purty!!
Whee! They were good on my crappy laptop monitor at home, but here at work (where I work, ostensibly) they are awesome. Beauty, eh?
Beautiful. Why don't you pursue photography professionally? You are really good at it.
Hey chaps, thanks! You know how I love validation, right? :)
Kenyo, I like the photography side of things, I'm just not sure I want the business side. Too many years of teaching bookkeeping to the owners of small businesses I think. Seeing what a struggle it is for most.
Really, unbelievably good.
What about selling some as stock photography, just for some extra cash?
I should consider that! The other thing I could consider is maybe using cafepress (or such) to make some cards or something...
Flowers are cosmic. These pics are lovely!
Or self-publish a photo book; it's easy online. Your photos of local color are just so lovely.
Come to America and teach me how to use my camera.
Actually the stock photo idea is a pretty good one... I'm sure you have about a trillion different shots that would make good stock.
Great DOF btw... now all we need to do is find you a copy of Photoshop ;)
Thanks kind sir!
