RIP, Mistress

Bye bye Aveline. Gone far too soon. Sitting and talking with you was always like throwing open the doors of a fabulous Cabinet Of Curiosities, my only regret is that we never got to do it often enough. Hopefully we'll meet again on your next go 'round.

Speedy has posted a moving tribute over at For Battle!

[Updated: Bunnikins has created an official link list of tributes to Aveline.]

Oh, dear. I'm sorry.

Thanks Michael. A stroke at 39, none of us would have thought it possible.

She was one of the universe's true originals. Contradictory. Fabulous. Scary. Wonderful. We never got to see each other all that often, but it was always a delight.

That is terribly sad Andrew. And thanks for the link to Speedy which gives (as yours) such a heartfelt insight one feels as if they knew her already.

Love you x

I have posted on For Battle as well, but I wanted to post something here as well. As I said on For Battle, Aveline was the most original and most honest person I have ever met. That is a very rare, but in Aveline's case, an hilarious, challenging, interesting and always fun combination. That combination of honesty and originality is also called integrity. Aveline had that in (spiked and sequinned, pink and black) spades.

Well said Mikey. Check out the tributes on Bunnikins - there are some beautiful and moving ones. Sarah's is especially moving (her livejournal is called "quatrefoil").

Just read Sarah's. Very lovely. I can't read anymore, not at work. Losing it at work is never a good look, so I will look at them at home. I didn't really think about it on Sunday when Spyde called other than a reflexive way. But yesterday and today, it is really hitting me... Better stop now, in fact.

Actually, I've been having the same experience. I had to stop reading the tributes a little while ago because I started crying. I've been thinking about her a lot today.

I'm lucky, been able to do a less-than-noble blubbing in the privacy of my own home PC. as you can imagine.

hope to see you tomorrow night TOA, Mikey is coming, I know already.

Hi Andrew,
I never knew Aveline, but from reading all the tributes for her, I can't help but be happy for all the people that she met along the way, that they connected with her in their own special way. Those moments could never really be taken away as the light never really goes out for amazing people like Aveline.
Take care, xx.
