Trying New Things

I started growing a beard over the weekend. Just because. OMG, I'm just like crazy like that! LOL. For realz!

I'm not sure if it'll last the distance, but so far so good. I've had a goatee for years and years, but thought it might be nice to give a full beard a go. For winter. You know, butch it up somewhat. The downside is that I don't have a very thick beard growth, so at this point it's looking a little patchy.

Over the past few years the problems I have with my skin (Rosacea) have escalated, to the point where my skin often looks quite red and patchy these days. I didn't decide to grow the beard as a cover up, but it will actually cover the worst parts of it if it grows in thick enough. I guess the only problem with that though is that it'll also make it harder to treat the condition with creams, and might have a detrimental effect.

Of course, all that aside, if the thing makes me look even one day older then it'll be gone in a heartbeat.

I am very fond of men with whiskers.
I would imagine you would be 10x more handsome with a beard
You must, must post a photo!

Ha! Thanks. I'm liking it so far, but it's a bit sparse. I'll see how I feel about it by next week, I don't mind the look though. I might post a pic soon, if I can get a nice one! :)

I've done the five o'clock heavy shadowed 'tom ford' look. And a bit of a goatee, at times. Unfortunately a goatee makes me look quite evil in my intentions. Go figure. Woman snap small children from my path. :)

As for a full beard: did that in my college days. Tried recently but it's all too depressingly grey. And once the stock boy called me 'sir'...off it went! Good luck to you in your beard endeavor.

Oh! and my other 'beard' in college was named "Janice." Or as my friends used to call her: 'Falcon Face' because of her severe eye make-up. Go figure. We made a cute couple.

don't listen to Michael G aka the Father of Lies. You will look fabulous in a beard I just knows it.

Hey, you have facial diversity. (WHOA!) Why not go for both? I grown in the beard. After a few weeks, I taper and trim. A week or two later, the goatee. Then trim it a bit and let the beard catch up. Why only one look? Have several. Keep people guessing. Every day can be like Halloween! Because you can always blame the other Andrew.

Amazing how a bit of scruff brings all you boys out of the woodwork all of a sudden! Nice to hear from you all.

Yes, I am MEGA BUTCH. Believe it.

"Father of Lies?" Where is that coming from UR-SPO? I'm feeling a tad bit besmirched. ;)

My face hair brings all the boys to the yard.

I can almost hear you singing it.

Reluctant to enter such a guy thread... but *Dave Daniels* just commented here. You have to come to SSK knitting group on Saturday now - it's compulsory after DD leaves a comment. And he'll never post here again if you don't. Right, Dave? And we can take your photo there and post it on the interwebs for you.

I'll be there on Saturday, with my friend Judy!
