All Consuming

I don't know what the hell got into my head over the weekend, but it was like I heard the rumour that food was about to be discontinued. Panic eating or something. I ate. And I ate. Boy, did I eat. It's like I was trying to create a whole second person from raw materials.

So, carrot sticks, lettuce leaves and a shamestorm from this point onwards...

Amen to that!

I think we're all genetically programmed to plump up for the cold months ahead. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

You can't really argue against the logic of it, or at least I'm not about to.

So I'm guessing you're free to blame me now if you get morbidly obese?

Happy to help! :-)

Yup. Just as James O'Brien will cop the blame if I develop a drinking problem. :)

I came to suggest that it must have been the weather because I also ate like food was going extinct this weekend. I'm glad to see others agree with me! I am going to go on a lettuce and brown rice regime soon. Really really soon...

My craving was fish pie. The ultimate indicator that winter is coming.

When the stew pot starting living on the stove you know winter's really here!

Cecilia, it's like Overeaters Anonymous here all of a sudden. :) I find that degree of support encouraging, don't you? Brown rice! Exactly what I had a craving for!... [/end sarcasm]

Jodie, fish pie. I actually had to go back and reread that to make sure it wasn't a euphamism. :P

Funny this thing about weekend food cravings. I went and made myself some brown soda bread. For the first time ever. Just had a need for it, somehow.

Ditto! This weekend found me binge eating big time. I have no reason or excuse for it. I must get a handle on this soon as Summer is just around the corner here. Not that I'm a beach boy but one does want to entertain the notion that a swimsuit will indeed fit.

What's with all this brown food? Hmmm, but I have to confess too. In my case it bowls (and bowls) of brown cereal. I had chocolate cravings and ate like a teenager!

Morgan, it's a homesickness thing maybe?

MG, judging by recent blog posts of yours, you're bathing suit ready. Or cushion ready anyway.

Nash, Coco Pops? Were they Coco Pops? My dad used to eat those almost every morning for breakfast.

No, not Coco Pops, but my latest discovery - Cocoa Bombs! Sorry, can't talk now, I've got another bowl in front of me. Mmmmm
