Yet More Botanical Porn

Pale Blue Vine

I took this photo a few weekends back, of a flowering vine growing on a neighour's front fence. Just a few streets over from where I live. It was a stinking hot day, so maybe it's just memory that makes me look at the strong light in this picture and think of hot Summer days.

It's so hard for me to think of a summer day here when it's 25 degrees outside. WHY do I LIVE HERE??! I beg someone to tell me the answer!

I should be gluing the final sequins onto my Sydney gay mardi gras costume instead of freezing my coconuts off. Yep.

I was thinking the same thing, MG. Even the winter there sounds better than the best weather we have here. I think Newtown could use a few more Mikes.

Well, then, might I suggest you both get to packing immediately. After all, Mardi Gras is on 4th March. Sequins to sew. Rabbits to meet. No time to waste!

Do you want to call QANTAS, or shall I?

We will both be at the airport to greet you.

Bodhi summed it up. Sydney needs more Michaels! Newtown needs more Michaels! I NEED MORE MICHAELS!

The days are staring to get shorter here, but it's still very warm. You know that when we piss and moan about Winter it's like a Spring day for you guys, right? Like maybe 60F on a cold day.

Bring your sequins.

You realize that this is not the first time I've been invited to go 'down under?'

So how come I've yet to see Sydney?!

Darlings if I had OPRAH's money we'd all be on the Almafi coast at my summer villa. I so need a new anise liquor right about now.

Then we'd all have a round of drinks. Yep.

Michael, I was just thinking last night how much I loved Sydney as we move into Autumn, whilst I sipped on my absinthe cocktail I had just made...

Amalfi sounds nice. I'll bring the coral coloured lipstick and pareo!

I'm an unabashed cheerleader for Sydney. I moved here by choice and heart the place very much. Brash, sure. Shallow, sometimes. Too fast and too rude, on a bad day. That's a big city for you though.

Go sit down by the harbour on a mild day with no clouds in the sky, the sun on the water, the Opera House at your back and then tell me there are better places to be. Ok, maybe the Amalfi coast...

I'm with TOA on being an unabashed cheerleader for Sydney. Although I was actually born right here in the Harbour City, my parents tore me away from my spiritual home when I was only but a small baby.

It took me till my early twenties before I finally came home, and I have been living here for 19 glorious years now.

And you know what MG, I'm sure that the Amalfi Coast is beautiful and all, but even if I had all the money in the world, I would still choose to live in Sydney. I heart it that much. Mind you, I might be willing to buy a few holiday villa's, you know, here and there.
