I just got an email from a senior manager at the charity where I work. It contained the following gems that made me want to claw at my (flushed from the heat) skin in displeasure:

Reminds me of the first few knitting patterns I designed. Everything I knew about knitting went into those designs. Luckily I never thought to take photos of them. :) It takes a while to figue out that less is more.
So, bobbles, cables, ribs, argyle patterns.... sounds fetching!

how many fonts did she use?
a few years ago I did some web page design stuff with a friend of a friend. do you know how hard it is to convince someone that more is not better when it comes to how many different fonts one can put on a page?
no, really, just pick one and stick to it!

ur-spo, I think she's a bit technology challenged for that - but then I guess she DID figure out all the possible options in Outlook...
Speedy, just one font thankfully. My rule of thumb is just a couple of fonts (tops), and ideally from complimentary font families. Rules are always meant to be broken, but it takes a good eye to get away with it.
