Uncertainty

It turns out that life has many uncertainties. Some things, like (oooooh let me see) telephone connections for example, are a lot less certain than one would think. Three weeks of staying at Morgan's house, and an unhealthy dash of poor attention to detail, resulted in the home phone being cut off. Temporarily. I paid the bill, I rang them up, I walked the fine line between being arch, snooty, obsequious and contrite, all the right things.

Except, and because this is my life we are examining here, the phone is still off. I assumed there was a problem with the reconnection issue, but it turns out there's a fault on the line. A coincidental fault. It stretches my credulity, but I'm prepared to take their word for it.

Mostly.

"No phone" just strikes me as terribly romantic. That is when it's not striking me as terribly poor. But mostly romantic in a Jamie Cullum's All At Sea way:

I’m all at sea
Where no one can bother me
I sleep by myself
I drink on my own
I don’t speak to nobody
I gave away my phone

Like a warm drink it seeps into my soul
Please just leave me right here on my own
Later on you could spend some time with me
If you want to, all at sea

Mmmmm, that song isn't my ringtone fer nuthin'. Of course, for you, you have that hoo-OT smooth head on the pillow next to yours, but you still get it right? Missing you a bit and would it KILL you to answer your emails? Do you even get them?

Sorry 'bout the emails sweetie - have three weeks + of emails waiting to be downloaded onto my pc. Went home specifically to do that the other night...bam, not phone line = no dail-up. I know I can access my emails on the internet... provided I could remember/find my email dial-up password info. (Christ I'm feeble...)

Sorry, It's not intentional!! :)

BTW - I made your new Flickr profile a 'contact' of mine - you can always FlickrMail me. I can log into Flickr from any pc.

No speedy, it's ok. My home phone (and therefore dail-up) should be fixed tomorrow, and I need to find that password anyway so that I can get my emails from Morgan's laptop at his place. At the moment though I'm only dropping by my place to grab clothes, and rarely spend the night, so my response time is slow. Hopefully I'll find that password and fix the problem by this weekend.

Oh, no worries, mate. ((See what I just did there with the accent? How cute was that?)) It's not like it was URGENT or anything. I didn't understand what the FLICKR thing was. Now I do. I'll use that.

Flickr needs a Yahoo! sign-in, I forgot to mention that.

Cute accent! :) Hopefully I'll have the email thing fixed, so either will be good in the future. Flickr is best in the short-term though.
