Just When You Thought I Couldn't Get Any Gayer...

...I just got back from the fabric store, where I bought quilting fabric, because I'm the only guy going to a Baby Shower tomorrow afternoon and we are all asked to take along a quilt square to be assembled into a quilt for the mother-to-be.

I mean, really.

One good thing about being a big bummer I guess, you get to go to 'secret womyn's business' things like Baby Showers and Hens' Nights. :-) C'mon, tell me you won't be knitting/crotcheting/quilting something when your little bundle comes along!

Cute, yes, and yet also strangely disturbing at the same time. You and your Martha Stewart tendancies, the poor little thing really didn't have much choice in the matter, huh? Baby Shower or not, Uncle Andrew was gunna make something.

M'kay

No, I won't be knitting/crotcheting/quilting something.

Let 'em grow up first, then take 'em shopping, I say. Babies? - Bleh!. Been there, done that, soooooo over it. There so demanding, so high-maintenance. They cry for no apparent reasons, throw tantrums, quickly tire of new toys, and constantly need to be the centre of attention. I mean who wants that in their life? Why would you ever find that appealing and .... ohhhh.... ummmmm ... s**t ... never mind.

Bodhi, Sunshine's gonna be a daddy when his friend Andrea drops her bundle. Hence the comment to him about 'when your little bundle comes along'.

When I first read this, I had to go back to figure out whether "the poor little thing" was the baby or Andrew. It was actually a little funnier the first way. Is this an instance where I could have used 'sic'? I've always wanted to used that.

I do find it incredibly cute, though. And sweet. The sewing. Also, I had never heard us described as bummers. Finally, I knew you had further depths of gay, Andrew. I never entertained the notion that we'd plumbed your depths yet.

Oh wait. Bodhi, you just described our entire merry band I think. Hell, I cried when the Nanny had to leave the Professor, and I've never looked back. Although, there is a valid reason there. I mean, Juliet Mills was such a DOLL in that. And one of my FIRST remembrances of Andrew was when he called me an attention whore at freakgirl. Anyhow. ::thrums fingers:: It's 2:00 AM here. I NEVER should have played hooky from handing out Halloween candy tonight. Well, I shouldn't have done it at the coffee shop. The baby spinach salad was divine, but three large coffees? What was I thinking? I have SUCH a busy schedule in the morning, too. Well, that sounds like tomorrow when its actually in the morning right now. Oooh, and it's haircut day. Wonder what tightness Mr. Alan will be sporting? He had a sleeveless t on last time. Never knew he was so inked before. He's got really nice shoulders. Bit of a paunch, though. THough. Like I don't like a little thickness around the middle on a guy sometimes. The roundest ass, too, all tucked into those lowriders. Like two melons. Casabas. You know, fairly large and firm with a small amount of softness at the stem end. This is why I never did coke. Anywho.

Coz, so I'll see you there by the sound of it?

Michael, did I really call you an attention whore way back when? Good guess, huh? :-) I'm a BIG baby at times, so the 'little baby' thing works as a compliment I guess. Describing gays as 'bummers' is very unflattering British slang, but it always tickled my funny bone. As I get older I think there'll be further depths (heights perhaps?) of gay being plumbed.

As to the rest, sehr entertaining... however, Decaf - consider it.

did you buy rainbow fabric to construct this square?? if not, then it isn't THAT gay. If it is a scene from the wizard of oz though... oh God. =o)

Might I suggest a square of ... cashmere? Maybe with your initials embroidered on it? A touch of softness and you, Andrew.

That is my project now - a cashmere quilt (but without the embroidery).

Duane, Loulou, good suggestions both and helpful for gaying it up. One of my workmates also helpfully suggested fake fur.

However instructions were for 'warm blues' so I went for a combo of three blues. 1 light tone for the background and two darker blues (I decided to do an 8 pointed star - I'm a traditionalist.) One of the darker blues is sooooo cute, it has teeny tiny little bones all over it in an orange colour. It needed at least a touch of a contrasting colour to 'lift' the all blues.

Now I've had the old Mental As Anything song running through my head:
"Spirit got lost,
Now something is missing.
The people 'round here,
Are too bony for kissing..."

PS. Loulou just the idea of a cashmere quilt has me clawing myself in pleasure. Luxe.

I've got my Olfa Rotary Cutter (yippee) and healing mat (yippee again) and I have oh, could it be 60 (or probably more) cashmere jumpers and polos that I've collected. Half of 'em have a few moth holes, so why not? They've all been washed in the machine over the years which makes them less precious and more rug-uppable on the couch-able.
And hopefully, then quite delectable for rolling around on. Hopefully, the rolling part. The smell of the sea can remain if it comes to that. Hah!

I don't know whether to felt'em or not. Probably not.

Good complementary orange choice. Colour wheel and all that, Boy-genius.

When Liam gets here, I'll buy baby stuff and get them sent over :P I can't knit to save my life! :P

Speedy, yes I do leave things to the last minute, but Miss Megs was late passing on my invite too so there were mitigating circumstances, your honour.

Sunshine, if you can't make, buy. It works for me. I'm sure Liam will score some very cute things!

Luscious loulou, that cashmere quilt just sound amazing. It'd be such a shame to just discard nice cashmere because the garment was worn. Very cool idea, you big Martha you.

Yes, I am more Martha than Martha and have always been... but.... I'm ::drummmmrrrrrrroll:: A Pisces!!!! (with Cancer&Scorpio doing something in there as well)

Drives many folk crazy.
Ideas. Dive in. Do it. Done it. On to the next.

But you see it's not always perfect. Probably drive you bonkers, dear marvellous Andrew.

Did I read that You are a Virgo? muahahaha if so. Pisces are put on earth to shake up your tidy world, if I recall. :P
