Knitting In Public

Here are some pics from the Worldwide Knitting In Public Day get together on Saturday.

What you can't really see in these pics is the torrential rainstorm that was thundering down about 10 feet from where we were sitting. Dramatic! Oh, and cold. It was really cold! Despite it being the worst rainstorm in about 30 years we had 27 intrepid (and well rugged up) knitters in total. Not a bad turn out and all, and a fun afternoon.

Big thanks to Kris for organising the event!

When you type stuff like "well rugged up" it makes me NEED to hear your voice. Make it so.

And that coffee concoction above the elphaba-hued yarn looks nummers.

You can just hear the lilt, can't you?

I can feel it in my nethers, pumpkin.

knitting while it is raining sounds very lovely; rather zen like even.

It's hard to get all zen though when it's so cold you start to lose the feelings in your extremities...

Seriously, the rainstorm had to be seen to be believed! (Sadly 9 people died across New South Wales from the storm over the weekend.)

Those green socks are so beautiful! As is that multi-colored jacket. Is that Noro?
I'm so impressed you made it out to the Opera House on Sunday. I didn't make it to my corner store to get milk!

Andamaroooooo!

I actually commented down on the Queenie post to check your email - I sent out a call for people to come to dinner at the Eiger on Weds night at 7:30, because it's the last chance Spyd and Gord will have for Eigery goodness for some time. can you make it?

Cecilia, it was cold and wet but still fun. The green yarn is Koigu I think! I don't know what yarn Kris knitted her hoodie in but I don't think it's Noro... Maybe go and ask her over at Web-Goddess (link is on my sidebar)
