Out With The Old

I finally got around to purging the books I don't want and getting rid of them yesterday. After sitting around in 5 large bags for the past couple of weeks, I managed to offload about a third of them at a local secondhand bookstore and the rest went to Goodwill. Purged. Gone from my life. And now in their place I have $35 worth of store credit to get myself a couple of books at the store. (It's a good secondhand bookstore, always full of interesting stuff.)

Next, the great wardrobe purge.

Thanks Thombeau! I put the graphics together years ago, for a blog I was going to start before I started this one (it was going to be called Chiffon Tents, as in the express "he's as camp as a row of pink chiffon tents"). That blog never was to be, but I had forgotten I'd made this until I was checking through the files on my computron. Quick name change, presto change-o!

Ur-spo, absolutely! At least I've made some room now...

yes, good for you baby. I think Goodwill is the perfect destination for those books you're too ashamed of for the secondhand bookstore to see.

I have no idea where that Unauthorized Biographpy of Suzanne Sommers came from.

Yarravillepaul, absolutely. Makes my little Virgo heart sing! Order must be restored...

MrPeenee, oh girl. Not even. But I will say that it was an eclectic collection that it included everything from a work on Hellenistic philosophy (mostly unread, that shit is hard yo) right the way along to some really bad trashy novels. The bookstore took what they wanted and I donated the rest. They liked the Hellenistic philosophy.

Get. Rid. Of. Books?

Truly. It kind of hurt, but the stuff I got rid of was mostly stuff that was a major disappointment or I will never read. Don't worry, with the hundreds (thousands? I mean, I have 7 bookcases...) of books I own, we're talking less than 1% here.
