Now It Really Feels Like Spring

Oh man I love this time of year. Once the Jasmine is in full bloom and the blossoms are all out, well, then it really starts to feel like Spring.

Deep Shade

I spent as much of the past weekend as possible out of doors, soaking up the Spring sun and letting it banish the rest of my cold. Sunday was absolutely perfect, brunch with Mikey (the lovely ex) and his equally lovely new boyfriend Evan, then a few beers in the afternoon. Sadly nobody showed up for knitting at the pub later that afternoon, but I had a magazine with me and I kind of enjoyed sitting there for a while just enjoying the warm breeze.

Blossom

I didn't do a lot on Saturday because I was still feeling full of cold, so I spent most of it hanging around the house or sitting out in my courtyard, although in the mid afternoon I did venture out and go to the Sydney Sity Klickers knitting group at a cafe just down the street. A nice social way to spend a few hours in the afternoon.

The only drawback to this time of year is, as much as I love it, it does seem to herald the end of the Magnolias that bloom in late Winter here. Still, it's a small price to pay.

I always feel Spring has arrived when my nostrils become aware of Jasmine in the air. I love it.

This is what I hate about Aussie blogs, the damn happiness for spring when everything around me is dying and cold and grey.

What? Who's bitter?

Actually, I'm glad for the cooler temperatures now since working with wool is always nicer when you're not sweating to death, but winter's coming and I am NOT looking forward.

Such pretty pictures. Glad your feeling better!

Yani, thanks! I think the white flowers are Azaleas maybe. They are on a low bush that the Jasmine was growing around and through.

Campbell, hey there, welcome! My whole neighbourhood seems to smell like Jasmine at the moment, it's wonderful!

Maggie, c'mon know don't be bitter. :) We have the same issue here with Northern Hamisphere blogs, although granted our Winters are mild. Good point about the knitting!

Thombeau, thank you kind sir. Yes, I'm feeling quite a bit better!

Could I possibly do anymore typos than in my last comment? I DON'T THINK SO.

Sorry I missed S&B at the Courthouse this week. I planned on going, but the will to live was sucked out of me by a trip to Ikea. I'm determined to be there next week, though.

Oh that would be cool arj, it'd be nice to meet you.

They are indeed azaleas. Gorgeous bloom and a lovely photo. I like the hint of geometry provided by the (looks like) rusty fence.

I had a lovely Sunday morning and early mid-afternoon with you and Evan on Sunday.

Ditto. That Evan is a cutie, and a sweetie. Makes me want to cry cold, bitter tears of envy, but you know, I'm happy for you!

(Of course I jest. Somewhat.)

Thanks Jodie! We must catch up sometime, is there any time you're going to be in the city?

Okay, then white Azaleas are now my favourite flower for the next... ooooh... week and a half... :)

What... I have the attention span of wet cardboard...

what lovely pictures. The white flowers definitely look like azalea or else smallish rhododendron. I'm glad you're feeling better.
