It's Not All Pretty Sailors And Ugly Rooms, You Know

Bleh. Nobody likes to read great big long tirades of whinge (ok, maybe I shouldn't speak for all of you, some of the more emo of you might love tirades of whinge, but me eh, not so much) so I'm just gonna give you the PowerPoint slide bullet-pointed version of my Crappy Tuesday:
  • I think I'm getting a cold, I have the scratchy throat and stuffy sinuses that seem to indicate same.
  • Poor Britney. I can't stop worrying about her.
  • I've injured my back recently, and the referred pain I started to feel down my right leg is getting past the point where I can assure myself it will Magically Go Away. Magically Go Away is normally my favourite remedy.
  • The shitty 'helping out' job I've been doing 3 days a week in another department was supposed to be over already, but now it looks like the woman who's spot I've been babysitting is not likely to return to work. I may get stuck doing it until the department restructure is finished and I can take up my new job. NOT HAPPY. Not the least because I have to sit next to the Loudest Person In The Building for those 3 days.
  • I've only just discovered that John Krasinski is in fact a cutie pie, and I kind of feel like such a lagger, you know?

Hey, I love being a johnny-come-lately and so should you. Jim Halpert rocks my socks. So smart and funny in a rumpledy cute way.

A cold and a bad back? Boy, you really need me. I keep talking about it, but I should really get down there. It'd be part vacation/part mission of mercy. I have home inspection today and if all goes well, I might just be FLUSH with cash in two short weeks, so who knows?

Congrats on the John Krasinski discovery. Although you will have to fight my friend Lisa for him. ;)

I like the pretty sailors and ugly rooms. And it sounds like hooking up with a pretty sailor in an ugly room is just what you need.

Thombeau, I took your advice and took today (Wednesday) off. Yucky, yucky cold and really sore throat. Doubleplusungood. :(

Michael, I need ministrations! You can ministrate, right?

And yes, a recent Jim Halpert convert. (Did you know John is 6'3", and is the shortest of his brothers? One is 6'10". That's some crazy shit.) The original UK version of The Office was a big hit here, and when they first screened the US version it was so close that, well, it seemed like a poor knock off the first few eps I saw. They took it off after one season, but it's back on and they are screening a later season and I have really warmed to it.

I really like the US version of The Office. Not least for John Krasinski. I've been tuning in for a while. The "gay detector" episode and the one where Steve Carrel (spelling?) takes on the nerdy guy from Six Feet Under at "Karatay" are both hilarious.

It was a bit like US Queer as Folk for me. Once they started to put their own spin on it, both shows improved immensely.

TOA, if it makes you feel any better I've been dosed up on a heady cocktail of ibuprofen, codeine, paracetamol and pseudoephidrine to get through these last three days. We can fight over whether I gave it to you, or you gave it to me on Sunday.
