Back On Deck

I took a day off yesterday. From work, from the internet, from pretty much everything except a morning stroll (with coffee), knitting (testing a mitten pattern) and watching the DVD of Paris Is Burning ("O-P-U-L-E-N-C-E! Opulence! You own EVERYTHING! Everything is YOURS!"). There are worse ways to spend a day, let me tell you. I even ordered in dinner because, in the spirit of Paris Is Burning, we pretty girls aren't made to cook.

I LOVE that movie! As someone pointed out on my Film Experience post, it fits in perfectly with "The Cockettes" and "The Nomi Song". So, dear boy, if you haven't seen those yet make sure you do! You'll be ever-so-glad you did.

(Of course, if you already have then you know what I'm talkin' about!)

Sadly I have heard of them but haven't seen either! School me up Mr T, pop culture guru.

I'll put them on my To Find list. I discovered a cool shop that can probably order them for me.

They shouldn't be too hard to find, and they're great fun!
Go here and scroll down to read my take on them. The post is titled "Freak Flag Flyin'".
