That WhineFest of an entry from earlier today (too much work... last minute changes... woe, woe I say!...) was my 300th blog entry! Talk about celebrating in style.
300! Given that I started this on a whim (and knowing my own lack of discipline and 'commitment issues') I'm surprised I made 30, let alone 300.

People put too much emphasis on round numbers.
Why are even numbers and numbers ending in a zero always so favoured?
I'm calling for a fair go for all non round numbers, especially not-easily-divisible numbers.
17, for instance, has a lot to offer this world, but has been under-appreciated for centuries.
Don't feel compelled to celebrate at 300, TheOtherAndrew, what you could just as easily celebrate at 317. Let us look forward to "317 Day"... and celebrate accordingly.
Equality for all (except for fractions, because they're not whole numbers).
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Cheers guys! Thanks for the comments.
Bolton, why celebrate at only the big round numbers, indeed? Perhaps 317 will be worth celebrating!
I kinda like the round numbers myself too Andrew, but then at the same time I also like to celebrate each and every day: carpe dium!
I noticed that in recent days the blog counter here at TOA passed the 5,000 mark. Tommorow (Aug 19), I will be 40 years old. And oooh, on the 13 October I will celebrate 1,000 days since I came out. Yaaay!
Funny how the rounds can put me into an especially reflective mood, and I often find myself looking back to what brought me to that point. As long as I don't ever forget that indeed each and every day or number has boundless possability. Its like they say in recovery circles, "Yesterday is history and tommorow's a mystery. Today is a gift, thats why its called the present."

4,783 days since you stopped the drinking and drugging, huh? Wow, I see a nice big round number in your not too distant future! 217 days and counting...
Notice the 200 AND 17!
I tell you... 17... it's where it's all at.
The recurrance of 17... spooky.
Dan Brown just emailed me to say it's a whole 'Da Vinci/Priory of Sion/Catholic Chrurch conspiracy thing'.
So, you know, if Dan (Brown) says it it must be true.
And of course we all know that if our beloved TOA says it with italics, than it must not only be true, but needs to be emphasized as so!

Ah Bodhi, you know that I love italics!!
