Asbyrgi is a huge natural depression ringed by cliff walls: it is some 3.5km wide, and about 100m deep in the South end. In the old days, people believed that Asbyrgi was a foorprint of Odins 8 legs horse Sleipnir. From the air, the shape of Asbyrgi looks like a giant mark of a horse shoe.
This rather weird picture, is a view from the side of the cliffs.
