"Doubt" In Haiku

Clean nailed Catholic priest,
One Phillip Seymour Hoffman,
Gives Meryl her doubts

Amy wants to think
The best of everyone, but
She too has her doubts

(Go see it, it is absolutely awesome. Streep, Adams and Hoffman are all completely brilliant. One of the best films I have seen in ages!)

  1. it was good
the play is even better - they cut out some of the subtext and second plots for the movie

  3. I'd like to see the play. Victor, you are right the performances were excellent. Meryl at the top of game, but I was really blown away by Amy Adams. So fragile, and yet strong.

  4. Totally different movie, but Andrew, with your long-past SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) associations, you'll get some smirks from the very silly "Role Models", currently screening.

Kinda like "Best in Show", only with SCA tragics.

  5. In one vivid scene,
    Viola ripped my heart out
    Mother lioness

Meryl, PSH, and Amy Adams were incredible, but how riveting was Viola Davis? This is definitely one of my favorites of '08.
