Och Aye!

I found this thistle growing as a weed in the street the other day. It quickened the Scottish blood that runs through my veins.

Thistle: Cirsium Vulgare


Cirsium Vulgare, aka the Roadside Thistle. Invasive weed or not I was still happy to see it.

    Thistles are often nicely fragrant if you dare get your nose in close enough.

    Oh, I didn't try and give them a sniff! They're still in flower so I'll check it out when I walk past next.

    (I have a botanist in tow at present, so I could ask him too... :) )
