Dungeons & Dragons creator Gargy Gygax dead at 69. Where's a saving throw when you really need it? As a youngling we played many D&D campaigns, we're not too embarrased to admit. Good times! And surprisingly, we weren't always a Halfling.
Carpe DM!
[Aren't those fuzzy d20s cool? Ok, maybe not cool, but fun. In a nerdalicious sort of way.]
I think Gary threw a few saving throws near the end as he did survive a heart attack and a few strokes before finally reaching minus hit points.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I love the fuzzy D20s.
True. Maybe what he really needed was a Resurrection Spell?
ReplyDeleteboo hoo
ReplyDeletei so enjoyed playing D and D
thanks to him i have a whole set of words i use regularly
including my favorite monster - the stirge.
I was keen on the Shambling Mound myself. Weirdest monster ever.
ReplyDeleteHis Futurama appearance with Al Gore was very funny.
ReplyDeleteA couple of the appropriately nerdy web comic sites I visit did little tributes to him, but the one at Order of the Stick was the most moving I think...
