I'm guessing that it's because he's kind of a nerd and a bit naff, that the inner-urban stencilling hipster responsible for this has taken him to heart. It's posturing.
I always liked Chandler best. I think I have a bit of an inner-Chandler at times.

Ack no. Ross was the least gay one, dude. Joey (closet case, over-compensating by bragging about women all the time, very concenred with his looks) or Chandler (the funny one, dresses neatly, I mean hello!)...
