Should I get a tattoo? I kind of like the idea of putting something beautiful on my body. Something to enhance, to mark me externally with what exists internally.
Srsly, the Interweb is full of great examples to copy!
That monkey and its owner will likely experience their arses sagging in tandem as the years go by.
Being (lightly) inked myself, I say go for it. Just be sure it's somewhere not likely to droop and that it's something you expect to be happy with 40 years hence.
Maybe I'm just overly conservative, but I personally would err on the side of not getting a tatoo. My sister got some years and years ago and has regretted them most of her life. Thank goodness for laser surgery (expensive though). Anyway, something to think about.
think how you will look when you are 70. if you ever need an IV or surgery, your tatoo will be toast. don't put anything on your person you would be ashamed to hang in your house.
I read some advice on a blog whose name I have forgotten, but the advice I have remembered: get a temporary tatoo, see how it feels on your skin for a few days. That way if you hate it, you can wash it off. If you like it, you can go ahead.

Sweetpea, I'm 44. EVERYTHING is starting to droop.
ReplyDeleteThat picture actually made me a little queasy.
ReplyDeleteI think a tattoo would be fine! For you.
Are monkey butts full of lint, do you think?
ReplyDeleteMid life crisis much? ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan myself and think the vast majority look tacky and nasty. But to each his own. :)
And another thing...
ReplyDeleteIf you DO get one, and you DO choose the monkey design, and then you DO post a photo on your blog....
....please remember to take the barcode tag off your jeans first.
:P
Tom .::whispers::. it was really just an excuse to put the pic up. But thanks for calling me middle aged!
ReplyDelete(I kid! I kid because I love!)
Hello, if you're stealing them who has the time to take the tags off?...
ReplyDeleteOops, sorry! :)
ReplyDeleteTrue... but maybe steal a belt too?
You are so freaking classy.
ReplyDeleteI hate sans-a-belt. What is up with young guys in suits and no belt? Srsly, it's another accessory!
ReplyDeleteLara, cheers big ears!

ReplyDeleteThe picture brought a big smile on my face, and made my day!

Coincidentally Boing Boing posted a big picture of a Sewing Tattoo today. You could get a knitting one I guess... ;)
