Zwei Toothpicks, Bitte

I had one of those restless, too hot/too cold, twisted up in bedding, face down and drooling sort of nights last night. It's not love that's a battlefield, it's my bed. In the wee small hours of the morning I considered popping half a sleeping pill, but then I would have lurched out of bed as a chemically induced zombie this morning rather than one brought on by sleep deprivation. Tough choice. I'm 2 hours and 40 some minutes into my work day and 2 coffees down, and I could faceplant right into my keyboard at any given moment.

And no, I have no idea why I titled this post in German.

  1. I’m not sure what time you normally get up in the morning, but I feel for you. I was ripped from (after a too hot, too cold night also) my sleep at 7.15 this morning by some bozo thinking it was a good idea to drill holes in the core of the building.

PS. I have alpaca with your name on it!

  2. FYI- the German word for toothpick is Zahnstocher. Thought you might wanted to know that....

  3. Jodie, my alarm is set for 6.30, which normally isn't a problem.

  6. Where were you at the interblog meeting tonight? Both papertrap and thehobartchronicles were keen to see and or meet you. It was a load of fun and no one was too scarey.

  7. Andrew, I have one word for you -- Tempur-Pedic. Well, maybe it's two words. With the hyphen I am never sure.

Anyway it's the memory foam mattress. We bought one a few months ago and it it wonderful. It is like taking a fist full of jellies.

  8. "Zahnstocher" reminds me of one of my favorite lines from Young Frankenstein:

Inga: He vould have an enormous schwanzstucke!

    Ahhh, Teri Garr. Alive?

  9. James, I forgot! Crap. Sorry.

Kenyo, I'm really happy with my mattress, although I have heard that these types of mattreses are good. I've been sleeping much better of late, the other night was an abberation - possibly brought on by too much coffee and chocolate.

Keith, OMG LOL. I heart "Young Frankenstein". Madeleine Khan! Cloris Leachman! Teri Garr! What's not to love?

"Ah, sweet mystery of life at last I've found you..."
